Hear GreenSpring’s American Youth Harp Ensemble as they perform repertoire from classical to contemporary, Celtic to jazz, and debut tracks from their latest recording project, "2K+ Fusion." Recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, "2K+ Fusion" showcases the harp like you've never heard before. Including music from the worlds of classical, film, and musicals. Trey Nunnally, Harp Ensemble Director, and a trio of current students promise to delight and entertain as they share their love of the harp. Registration fee supports local youth musicians. Spring Arbor of Midlothian will provide a reception after the concert.
GreenSpring's American Youth Harp Ensemble (AYHE) is hailed as a "national cultural treasure" by the U.S. Department of State. Founded in 1995 by Lynnelle Ediger, the AYHE has garnered acclaim for its musical excellence with over 1,000 performances, recordings, and media features worldwide. With an annual audience reach exceeding one million listeners, the ensemble boasts an impressive track record of 30 national and international tours, with highlights including Australia, Canada, Ireland, Belgium, Norway, Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, France, the Netherlands, as well as the UK. The AYHE's performances have consistently garnered acclaim, including sold-out performances at renowned venues such as Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, Salle Gaveau in Paris, St. John’s Smith Square in London, and Carnegie Hall, where they have graced the stage four times. Other highlights include the White House, Washington National Cathedral, on the Queen Mary 2, joint tours with the Claire Jones Harp Ensemble, and the feature of two national network television specials. Their 2016 CD was considered for a prestigious Grammy Award. In 2021, Ediger passed the torch to Trey Nunnally, an alumnus of the American Youth Harp Ensemble, who became the director of the American Youth Harp Ensemble. In his capable hands, the ensemble is continuing its legacy of excellence.
