“Then the earth will yield its harvests, and God, our God, will richly bless us.” Psalms 67:6
The turkeys have decided that they have had enough of being our Thanksgiving dinner. Now the tables have turned! They are out to steal the pilgrim’s harvest and make sure that this year there will be NO Thanksgiving feast. There are two ways you can participate in this exciting event. You can be a “turkey” and try to steal the pilgrim’s harvest as they run through fields and forests or you can be a “pilgrim” and see if you can escape the turkeys and hang on to your harvest.
This is a fun-filled family event with something for everyone. Kids can chase “turkeys” in our turkey corral, make fun Thanksgiving crafts, play on the playground and much more. Anyone who’s not on the course will have a chance to check out the chase as pilgrims dodge turkeys across the fields, have their picture taken in our photo booth complete with turkey and pilgrim props, and see if they can win a cake at our cake walk. And don’t forget to come in your best turkey or pilgrim attire because there will be a costume contest after the race with prizes to the best dressed male, female, and kid turkey and pilgrim! Lots of fun for everyone!
Turkeys ... If you want to try out your skills at chasing down the pilgrims and stealing their “harvest” flags be aware that spaces are limited so sign up early to save your spot. Turkeys are on the course for the entire race so come prepared to chase down as many pilgrims as you heart desires.
- All turkeys will be required to wear at least a minimum costume, which will be provided for you in your race bag. Don’t be afraid to be creative and let your imagination run wild as the best dressed turkeys will win prizes in our costume contest.
- Participants must be at least 15 at the time of the race to be a turkey.
Pilgrims… Ready to sharpen your escape skills? Register for your favorite heat time before it fills up. The better your dodging skills are and the more harvest flags you escape with the more chances you have to win prizes in our drawing after the race.
- All pilgrims will start the race with a belt with 3 “harvest” Flags.
- Participants must be at least 12 at the time of the race to be a pilgrim
- The more “harvest” flags you cross the finish line with the greater you chances are to win prizes in our post-race drawings!
Add to your harvest
Would like to have a little extra bounty as you begin your race to escape the turkeys? Bring non-perishable food items (such as canned soup, canned meats, cereal, canned fruits, box fruit drinks, etc.) to our food drive and receive an extra “harvest” Flag. All items will be donated to the American Renaissance School Backpack Program.
