What's Included

In this course you will build upon the foundation that was previously laid in Backpacking-101. We'll cover winter backpacking, summer backpacking, lightweight techniques, the art of hiking, water purification, planning your own hike, risk management, international trails, CPR/1st Aid and lots more.

The course consists of 3-hours of evening skills instruction through an online webinar; 7pm-8:30pm on a Tuesday & 7pm-8:30pm on a Thursday. You can meet on your computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet. We found this method to be more efficient and effective for our customers by saving travel time.

During the second webinar we will plan the 3-day backcountry trip (Fri-Sun) in Savage Gulf where you will put your new knowledge and skills to use. You will be carrying a 40+/- pound pack. If you need to rent backpacking gear (backpack, camp stove, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent) you can do so during check out.

You will automatically be emailed a gear and clothing list and backpacking food list after check out. You will be emailed a detailed itinerary of the outing, skill instruction dates, as well as directions for gear pick up and directions to the trailhead. We will take care of the rest!
