About This Activity

The marathon training program is 24 weeks long and the half marathon program is 19 weeks long. Group runs are scheduled every Sunday morning. Informal runs are also offered on Tuesday evenings.
Program duration

Marathon training begins January 26, 2014; half marathon training begins March 2. Both programs continue through July 13. Target race: Missoula Marathon/Half on July 13.

Program benefits

All participants receive a technical t-shirt. First-year participants also receive the Galloway Training Programs book. In addition, marathon training participants receive a year's subscription to Runner's World magazine.

Group Runs

Classes meet on Sundays, 8:00 am and Tuesdays 6 pm.
Sunday classes meet at the Runner's Edge, 304 North Higgins Street, Missoula from January 26 through March 2.
Beginning March 9, Sunday classes move to The Loft, 119 West Main Street, Missoula.
All Tuesday classes meet at the Runner's Edge.

Refund Policy

The training fee is non-refundable. Requests for refunds are considered for medical reasons only and must be accompanied by a physician's letter. They must be submitted prior to the half-way point in the training season. A $25 processing fee will be retained.

Participants beginning either the marathon or half marathon program should be able to run/walk at least 3 miles when the program begins.


$99 marathon training, $75 half marathon training. Training program registration fee does NOT include race entry.
