We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Saturday, May 29, 2021.
Learn about planetary orbit in a unique way. Students will create a rotating model, called an orrery, of the Sun, Earth, and Moon. Then, program the model using electronics such as motors and lights. The orrery will teach students about the relationship between our planet and other celestial bodies that affect life on Earth and how it changes throughout the year. They will also learn about the correlated movement of the Sun, Earth, and Moon and how it affects our seasons to the phases of the moon.
Please Note: This online class will be taught live through Zoom. Participants need a laptop with Chrome installed and Bluetooth 4.0.
