We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Sunday, April 18, 2021.
Meditation does not have to feel daunting or difficult, it should feel like a best friend, and it does not need to take any time for the benefits of meditation to work. Meditation is an awareness of presence, and that only takes a moment. In this workshop you will be gently guided through various meditation practices and styles. You will learn what meditation is and is not, and learn to develop simple techniques to guide you through life; then to understand that it is a discipline, so what you learn will be up to you as to how well the benefits work in your life ongoing.
Please dress comfortably, mats, cushions, and chairs will be available. Please do not eat a heavy meal prior, and it is best to not eat anything an hour prior.
Cynthia Smith has been meditating regularly for over 20 years. Her studies range from Transcendental Meditation, Mindfulness, Buddhist and Christian traditions and many others, this enables her to bring an eclectic style to the powerful practice. She teaches at Indiana University Northwest, and in various places around Northwest Indiana. She is passionate about her practice and loves teaching and sharing with others.
