City kids don';t often get to experience the wonders of a farm! Our camps are a perfect opportunity for learning and fun! Superstition Farm is a family owned working dairy and tour facility including a petting zoo, lots of games and activities to stimulate learning, a demonstration garden and of course hayrides!
****Campers will come home tired, dirty, happy, possibly wet and with wonderful stories to share!****
New this year, we are no longer requiring campers to be a certain age. Campers coming alone must be potty trained and able to use the restroom on their own. Younger campers may be accompanied by a parent, guardian or older and responsible sibling. We also have an all new curriculum for returning campers!
Fun on the Farm Summer Camp 2017
Sign up for the entire week of Fun on the Farm Camp and receive a discount over the daily rate. Or if your summer is too busy to commit to a full week, pick and choose your days to attend.
Camp runs from 8am-11:30am Monday-Friday. A farm fresh snack is included mid-morning each day. This is an outdoor classroom! Dress appropriately. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat. We take many breaks under the misters, in the shade and in our swamp cooled barn. Bring a water bottle with your child’s name on it. We will be sure it stays full with cool water throughout the day.
Here is a sample of some of the fun to expect!
Monday-Great to Garden
Most think that it is impossible to grow food in the desert. We will show you how! Start the day with a walk through our beautiful garden and learn about our native plants. Then begin your own beautiful garden by decorating a growing pot that we will later plant. Enjoy a snack of things you would find in a garden. Help us plant a new area in our garden. And finish out the day with farm fun and games!
Cows! Cows! And more Cows! They are why Superstition Farm exists! And we love our curious cows! Learn all about how our farmers take care of these precious creatures. Meet some of our girls on the hayride around the dairy grounds. Then you get a behind the scenes look into our milking parlor! When we return to the classroom, you get to taste the yummy milk that our cows make. End the day with a cow craft, story time and more farm fun and games!
Have you heard the story of Billy Goat Gruff? Start the day with goat story time! Then make a goat mask and join our heard. Learn about the care and diet of goats, different breeds of goats (including screaming and fainting goats), and taste the difference between goat and cow milk. Have you heard goats eat everything? They don';t, but they do eat many of the same things we do. Put on your chef';s hat and make them a special treat!
Twice the animal fun today! Spend classroom time learning about chicken and rabbit facts and get hands on experience holding both. Enjoy a chicken/rabbit craft. Get silly and learn the Chicken Dance and Bunny Hop! Then go on an Egg Scavenger Hunt! The eggs contain yummy toppings to create an ice cream sundae masterpiece!
Friday-Wet and Wild on the Farm
Today is all about keeping cool during our hot summer! Wear your swimsuit and enjoy fun water games including Duck, Duck, Squeeze (like Duck, Duck, Goose, but with water), a water relay race through our hay maze, water balloon fight plus Slip ';n Slide!
