Please stand up and walk the walk by joining NJCTS for the 5th annual NJ Walks For TS at Mendham to promote awareness, acceptance, action and advocacy of Tourette Syndrome and its associated disorders at a day of fun and empowerment for kids, by kids and about kids. This family fun run and walk event will fund the statewide education outreach and peer advocacy programs of NJCTS which provide on-site school in-service presentations to teachers, students and other educational professionals.
This event was developed in 2010 as a collaboration between the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders (NJCTS) and Mendham teenager Emily Carrara to raise awareness for Tourette Syndrome -- an inherited, misdiagnosed, misunderstood neurological disorder characterized by involuntary sounds and movements known as tics that affects 1 in 100 children.
NJCTS is a non-profit organization that leads the TS community in innovative programs designed for children, families, medical and education professionals and the research community. By joining us on November 15th, you will be part of our mission to improve the lives of those with this challenging neurological disorder and equip professionals to properly understand and improve the quality of services delivered to those with TS.
This 5K fun run and walk is designed for children and families. Join us for a morning of fresh air, a path through beautiful Mendham and a spirit of unity. Stand up for TS! Don't miss out, register today!
If you are a team captain, please make sure you sign up yourself as a team FIRST, then get each of your team members to sign up under your team -- not as individuals. You will need to do this on both this registration site and our fundraising site.
