The Tour de Lure is a 71 mile charity bike ride in Western North Carolina that winds through McDowell County, up Stone Mountain, through Chimney Rock and around Lake Lure before heading back to McDowell County via the Assault on Mt. Mitchell route with a total of 5600’ of ascension. The event also includes a shorter 23 mile Fun Ride which is great for those new to cycling. Riders will enjoy the well-marked course, few turns, ride support, post-ride lunch and shower facilities. All pre-registered participants will receive an event t-shirt.
This event supports the YMCA of WNC of Annual Campaign to ensure that no child, family or adult is turned away from our programs because of their inability to pay. Your participation in this event directly supports the YMCA’s cause to build a healthier Western North Carolina.
Event details and schedule
Both rides begin and end at the Corpening Memorial YMCA in Marion, North Carolina at 9am. Strava information and cue sheets for the routes can be found on our website - http://www.ymcawnc.org/tourdelure
SAG support is offered throughout the course - 4 food/drink rest stations along the 71 mile course and one on the 23 mile route. Additionally, port-a-johns can be found at three of our rest stops. We also provide multiple SAG vehicles along the route to assist riders as needed. Upon return to the YMCA, participants can enjoy a shower and massage and a delicious lunch. SAG and lunch ends at 4:00pm. Any riders remaining on the course at this time must be picked up by a SAG vehicle. The YMCA of WNC assumes no responsibility or liability for anyone who refuses to ride the 'final sweep' vehicle.

Februay 15-noon on Thursday March 30, 2017: $55.00
On-Site Registration Saturday 4/1, 7:30am-8:45am: $65.00 (cash or check preferred)
On-site registration and packet pick up begins at 7:30am on the morning of 4/1/16.
