About this event
This certification prepares you for using our Universal VLS 3.50 laser cutters during Open Labs. These lasers allow you to engrave or cut intricate designs out of sheet materials such as colored plastic (acrylic), wood, cardstock, and cardboard. An introduction to laser cutting technology with hands-on practice is provided. Topics include laser cutter safety, applications, how to prepare design files, overview of design software options, types of materials that can be used, and more. After this session, members will need to complete an Online Certification Test and an in-person Skills Test (during an Open Lab session of your choosing) to complete the certification.
