About this event

Description

This course will teach students text-based coding languages, and expand their knowledge as they gain proficiency in foundational coding concepts, while also learning all the exciting applications of code by building their own projects and programs. Students will work through each language at their own pace!

Python: is used by some of the largest tech companies in the word! Python provides a gentle introduction to text-based coding navigating complex computational problems. Projects include word-based games, scripts, and mathematical simulations. Java: expand your knowledge and skillset with object-oriented programming in Java. Learn the basics and advance to learning about objects, methods, classes, and use that to create card game simulations, parking garage software, and basically any simulation that requires object interaction. Using you Java skills, you'll be able to develop an impressive portfolio that cannot be overlooked by colleges. This course will make you AP Computer Science class a breeze! Create Digital Art with Javascript: Paint and tell a story from you perspective all with code. Express your creative side by learning how to create gripping animations and transitions using Javascript. With a snap, you'll create interactive web-based animations that look really cool! In this course, students have used code simulate a sunrise and sunset, simulate Fibonacci sequence, and recreate the classic snake and pong games that can be played directly in the browser. Amazing stuff for your portfolio!
