We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Monday, August 9, 2021.
"We work very hard in our lives, and while we may sleep, we rarely take time to relax. Restorative yoga poses help us learn to rest deeply and completely." Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D., PT
A restorative yoga class is different than any other type of yoga class. We will start with a bit of gentle movement followed by a series of 3-6 reclined or supine poses where we will stay for 3-8 minutes each, concluding with 5 minutes of deep rest. All poses are completely supported with props such as blocks, bolsters, and blankets to allow the muscles to be as inactive as possible resulting in a deeply relaxed state. This allows our bodies to come into a “rest and digest” state rather than “fight or flight”. Our practice will be held with a cozy fire when weather permits for an even more nurturing and relaxing experience.
No prior yoga experience necessary. Please bring a yoga bolster or a firm, large, rectangle pillow. Other props will be provided.
