Taught by Master Youth Teacher, Claire Chubbuck, the Chubbuck Workshop is a professional acting experience that gives young actors the tools they need to move from the first read- to performance using the Chubbuck Technique. Claire takes a group of aspiring artists and guides them through the application of breaking down the script to create an inspiring performance while teaching acting tools that will bring about successful acting careers. Actors will be using the Chubbuck Technique - the technique that made Brad Pitt, Charlize Theron, Gal Gadot, Halle Berry, Travis Fimmel, Jerod Leto have productive careers. Claire Chubbuck uses the Chubbuck Technique to give young actors access to the same coveted teachings. By honing the approach to suit millennials, Claire, through her teaching, has gotten significant roles for her young students on shows and films such as: STRANGER THINGS, Disney's JESSIE, GIRL MEETS WORLD, Netflix's ALEXA & KATIE, ABC'S THE MIDDLE, Amazon's THE HAUNTED HATHAWAYS, Nickelodeon's DEADTIME STORIES, BLACK-ISH, MY CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND, 12 YEARS A SLAVE, THE PEANUTS MOVIE, JESSICA DARLING'S IT LIST, PROUD MARY Students will be assigned scenes and roles from a one-hour television program to understand and perform while exploring the principles outlined in "The Power of the Actor" by Ivana Chubbuck. Over the course of the five-day intensive, students will learn how to choose an objective, turn beats into actions, use inner monologue, and integrate their personal history with the character using the tools of the Chubbuck Technique to pursue a vital goal dynamically. By encouraging students to embrace their vulnerabilities, the Chubbuck Technique enables young actors to shed their shells and portray their most empowered selves. All participants should have read the first 12 chapters of "The Power of the Actor" by Ivana Chubbuck before the beginning of the workshop. Arrive wearing comfortable clothes, and bring a pad of paper and pens/pencils.
