Shotokan Karate-Do (SKIF System) is a traditional Japanese martial art. The study of karate is an inner search for growth and self-discipline, which encompasses many ideals. Students train in the basic exercises involving punching, blocking, kicking, stances, forms, sparring, and self-defense. A white karate uniform is required for class and can be ordered through the instructor. Your instructor is Sensei James Shea, a Longmeadow resident who has been teaching karate for over 40 years.
