Enjoy the natural beauty of Wisconsin Fall Colors on the scenic Ice Age Trail!
No, we will not be throwing any color powder on you...this is just a good old fashioned trail run on a beautiful (but challenging) segment of the Ice Age Trail. You will enjoy amazing views of Lake Wisconsin and Devils Lake from the top of the bluffs and finish in the valley right next to the Merrimac Ferry Landing
Three distances available so no matter your age or ability we've got an event for you: 2 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk, 4 Mile Run/Walk, or 8 Mile Run.
Your registration includes a $15 donation to the Ice Age Trail Alliance, an Adidas running cap for the first 100 registrants, race bib, aid station, a drink (water, sports drink or Deschutes Brewery beer) in a take home mug and some seasonal snacks (apples, pumpkin muffins, etc.). Prizes will be awarded to the top overall Male and Female of the 4-mile & 8-mile runs. We will also hold some (25+) prize drawings that all participants are eligible to win after awards are announced!
*New this year, we’ve decided to do away with timing as it has increased greatly in cost and we’ve decided to donate more to the Ice Age Trail Alliance instead. The donation amount has gone from $10 to $15 for each participant. There will be a clock at the beginning and end so participants can note their times if interested. We will track who are the first finishers for each gender in each distance so the four overall winners will get prizes. We will no longer be able to do age winners, but will still have our awesome 25+ drawings that all participants are eligible for. We are sorry if this disappoints anyone and hope everyone will understand that this event is first and foremost for fun and to support the Ice Age Trail Alliance.

Is registration refundable? No, registrations are not refundable – however, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another person up to two days before the event.
Is there a weather cancellation policy? Yes, if the temperature is below freezing, if there is severe lightning, or if conditions are otherwise unsafe the event will be canceled. All registration fees except the processing fees and the hat costs (you will be able to pick up your hat at Fontana) will be donated to the IATA. Why is Fontana Sports putting on this event? We wanted to work to raise money for non-profit organizations we believe in while helping our community to get active outdoors. Fontana Sports, which is a locally owned business, has always had a close relationship with the IATA as we find the organization incredibly important for encouraging people to get outside and appreciate the outdoors; as well as the work they do to protect and support Wisconsin lands. The Hutchinson’s, who own Fontana Sports, have had so many great adventures, day hikes and winter explorations on the IAT. We hope you’ll join us!
