RRCA certified 10,000 meters. Fifty percent shaded loop course, paved roads, flat, closed to traffic, well marked. One loop out and back through the main business district and historical sections of Lexington.
The Bluegrass 10,000 is a footrace. Only those who run or walk may register. Wheelchair participants are welcome. Wheelchair participants are governed by NWAA sanctions. Children in strollers, roller skaters, rollerbladers, and skateboarders may not register for the 10K run but are welcome to register for the one-mile Fun Run. Sorry no pets.
Runners line up at the start according to average time per mile.
The ChronoTrack timing system wiil be used to score the 10K (not the Fun Run). ChronoTrack utilizes an RFID disposable tag (chip). The disposable timing tag comes attached to the bib. Before the race, runners must attach the tag to their shoes as per instructions. The tag is not collected after the runner finishes.
Race Packets: Packets may be picked up at the LAST CHANCE registration which is held at the Parks & Recreation Administration Offices, (469 Parkway Drive) which is adjacent to the Gay Brewer Jr. Golf Course at Picadome on Tuesday, July 3rd, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., or registrants may include an additional $3 mailing fee postmarked by June 8th, to have packets mailed.There will be no mailed packets after the June 8th postmark. Registrations received postmarked after this date must be picked up at race headquaters or at the Last Chance registration. Packets can be picked up at race headquarters located at 545 North Upper Street, Lexington, Ky 40508 June 1st through June 29th. PACKETS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON RACE DAY.
A map depicting available parking will be included in the packet.
Trained medical personnel and vehicles will be located along the course and at the finish area. Restroom facilities will be located at the start area on East Main Street and past the finish line.
Awards will be given to the top 15 male and top 15 female runners, and the top male and female standard and crank wheelchair finishers according to gun time. The top age division winners (exclusive of the top 15) will be awarded according to chip time. Certificates can be downloaded at www.lexingtonky.gov/parks. The awards ceremony, announcing unofficial results, will be 10:00 a.m. at the courthouse.
10K - $25 until 6/8 ($28 for packet delivery before 6/8), $30 thereafter.
Fun Run - $15 until 6/8 ($18 packet delivery) $15 thereafter.
