Summer is here, although it will be anything but normal. The hope is at some point return to “in-person” classes, but that is unable to even be considered until our area’s status moves to “Green”.
The good news is you can continue a healthy lifestyle by enrolling in one of Marisa Stipe’s Active Wellness classes that will begin the summer season via Facebook LIVE online streaming. Should the time arrive this summer that “in-person” activities are permitted, we hope to return to the Lemoyne Borough Community Room or Fairview Twp Firestation No. 1.
West Shore Rec wants to keep you active and engaged this summer, so WSRec and Marisa are going to try something completely different. Classes will be offered as a daily package with all classes on any given day of the week together for one price. Here is some more good news, we realize that budgets are tight for many of you, so registration fees have been slashed to help you keep active this summer.
How does it work you ask? All you have to do is pick which day or days of the week you want to register for and pay the associated fee. After you complete your registration, then go to the Active Wellness page of our website westshorerec.org. Once there, click on the appropriate Facebook Group for each day you have enrolled and request to join that group. A group administrator will then approve your request. Please, please, please don’t wait until the last minute to do this or you may not get authorized in time.
Pilates - all levels
Pilates is a body conditioning system that works your core muscles including the abdominals, back and buttocks. Pilates’ theory is that if your middle is strong, the rest of your body will become stronger as well. The exercises lengthen your muscles and help you develop balance, proper alignment and flexibility. Bring a mat.
Pure Barre is the fastest, most effective way to change your body. It will lift your seat, tone your thighs and burn fat in record-breaking time. A fun, energetic fitness experience workout done to music, fusing techniques from Pilates, Yoga and Dance that will tone, define and chisel the whole body. You don’t even need any dance experience or a partner! Bring a mat and light hand weights.
POUND is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and isometric poses. Burn calories, strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles, and drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique – all while rocking out to your favorite music! Each 2-4 minute song is carefully calibrated with interval peaks and extended fat burning sequences, providing you with a great workout in a short span of time. Bring a mat.
