This class requires a working knowledge of clay, and both handbuilders and wheel throwers are welcome. Surface design techniques covered include carving, sgraffito, mishima, resist design, water edging, brush work, majolica, slip design, mocha diffusion, and terra sigillata. Students may practice all techniques or choose a few for focused studies.

*Due to current health and safety concerns, access to community tools and equipment will be restricted. Please bring, and only use, your own tools, sponge, bucket, etc. Gloves are suggested for high-touch shared spaces. More information will be emailed to enrolled students before the session begins.
Toolkits are available for purchase at the LCAC for $20 + tax. Clay must be purchased at the LCAC and is $20 + tax per 25-pund bag. A variety of clays are available.
Supply Fee: $20 paid to instructor on the first day of class.
