Description
This course introduces participants to the basics of throwing pottery and provides an understanding of ceramic terms, processes, and knowledge needed to use the pottery studio safely and independently. Topics include centering clay and throwing basic forms. Sessions include demonstrations and practice time under the guidance of the instructor.
Bring your own clay tools or purchase a tool kit at the LCAC for $20 + tax. Clay must be purchased at the LCAC and is $20 + tax per 25-pund bag. A variety of clays are available.
While enrolled in a pottery course at the LCAC, participants may use the pottery studios during hours of operation outside of scheduled class times.
