Join us on this 9.5 mile trip that takes you through the San Mateo Canyon Wilderness. Along the way, you will pass through chaparral and oak woodland while enjoying a variety of different scenes, ranging from cool oak boughs shading the trail to expansive views. At 3,273 feet above sea level, Sitton Peak has a commanding 360-degree view of the Cleveland National Forest. The elevation gain and distance makes this a good intermediate level hike with an elevation gain of approximately 1,500 feet. Be sure to dress in layers, bring plenty of water, some snacks and sack lunch, wear good footwear, and sun protection. Participants meet at the Laguna Hills Community Center where City staff will provide transportation to the trailhead. Call (949) 707-2680 for more information. No refunds or transfers for this event.
Participants need to meet in front of the Community Center at 7:00 AM.
