Support-A-Park is creating Events at Parks for Parks. Each event will raise awareness for and benefit the hosting park. This keeps the money local benefiting parks and their surrounding communities for future generations.

Event details and schedule
The Start and Finish will be located at Gossett Tract, part of the Harpeth River State Park system.
The event will start at 8:00am and have a staggered start every 2-3 min. beginning with the Canoe/Kayak. You will end the river portion 7 miles downstream at the Harris Street Bridge take out. You will then run/walk 0.5 miles on a hiking trail following the river. You will exit the trail at the Narrows of the Harpeth (part of the park) and run/walk the remaining 2.5 miles on pavement. Following the river, Cedar Hill Rd. will lead you back to the Start/Finish area where your bikes will be waiting for you. You will then bike out 5.5 miles north on Cedar Hill Rd turning around on Griffintown Rd and heading back to the Finish . All contestants MUST wear a Life Jacket while on the river and a bike helmet while biking. Contestants may NOT wear headphones at any time during the race. Failure to comply with these Safety Rules will subject contestants to disqualification.
There will be all types of skill levels competing in this race so please be aware of your surroundings at all time.
Single contestants in the open division (bring your own boat) will start the event, followed by the team open division. Next will be individual males and individual females in kayaks followed by the Male/Male canoe division, Female/Female division, then the Female/Male division.. We are staggering to ease congestion on the course. There will be a winner from each division listed above, but honestly the park will be the real winner!
How do I fill out the waiver form(s) to participate in the race?
A copy of the waivers will be posted on supportapark.com where you can print, sign and then return when you pick up your Race Packet.
What you need to bring.
Proper Race Attire, Shoes, Bike, Bike Helmet, Photo ID for all contestants!
How old do you have to be to participate?
16 years + Parent or Guardian Waiver.

Open Single, Open Team
Kayak Male, Kayak Female
Canoe (M/M) ,Canoe (F/F), Canoe (F/M)
When can I set my bike (and/or boat) up?
5am day of race.
Can we camp at the park?
No but you can at Montgomery Bell State Park 10mi West of Gossett Tract.
Where to stay?
Various hotels in the area including Montgomery Bell State Park.
Will there be food, drinks?
Fresh Fruit from Whole Foods Market, Cliff Bars and plenty of Water will be available at the park… You are allowed to bring your own food/snacks/drinks to the park, NO Alcohol! Some food off the grill for contestants and volunteers will take place at the Fillin' Station and their Full menue will be available for purchase as well. Plan on heading over there after the race!
Can I practice the course?
Yep, you can run, or ride the course when you want and when you register for the event you and/or your race partner can practice the river portion during the week (Mon-Thurs, No holidays) for $20 a canoe ($10 a person), or single kayak for $20 at one of the participating canoe liveries.
How do I get the discount to practice the River portion?
You must show your Active.com registration confirmation and photo ID at participating Canoe Liveries.
What if it rains on the event day?
This is a Rain or Shine Event..No Refunds... For safety purposes, Lightning or Water Level may turn the event into a duathlon.
Are headphones allowed?
NO. You must stay aware of your surroundings.
Can my child participate?
16 and older and with Parent or Guardian waiver.
Where to park for event?
CAR POOL for the environment, once your car is full park at the Gossett Tract location.
Can I use my own boat?
Yes… Open Division, Must wear a Life Jacket, No motors, Just paddles
When and what is your next event?
5-K-9 Hidden Lake dog walk. West Nashville in Spring 2015.
Can we bring friends family?
Will there be activities for the kids?
Not this year but there will be plenty of Nature to occupy a child's mind.
How do I get there?
GPS Gossett Tract Park... or Hwy 70 (West) of Nashville into Cheatham Co., just past Foggy Bottom Canoe and Tip-A-Canoe, turn Right (North) on Cedar Hill Rd and travel for .5 miles, Park is on your left.
Are there any post race ceremonies or events?
Awards, Prizes and after the race we are all heading to the Fillin' Station in Kingston Springs TN. (2.5 miles from Gossett) for some live music and a little grub off the grill! Honky Tonk Dave will be playing so get ready for some 2-stepin! The Fillin' Station is graciously opening up early for us and this place is known for their live music and good times so plan on stopping by to relax, unwind and celebrate this years Harpeth Hustle Triathlon!
Are there transition times?
No, however this race will be chip timed with one start/finish time for each conteststant. Team catagory will be a combination of both team contestants times.
You must present Race # and Photo ID to receive your race packet. Race #s and start times will be emailed to all participants 1 week before race date. Pre-Race packet pick up locations will be posted on our website in the coming weeks. Race day check in will start at 6:00am, please check in by 7:30am to ensure your scheduled start time.
