The Run for Recovery 5k is hosted on the beautiful campus of Kennesaw State University and supports students in recovery from addiction and eating disorders. The race is hosted by KSU's Health Promotion and Wellness.
The Run for Recovery is a kick-off event for National Recovery Month in September, during which hundreds of events across the country support "the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover" (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration). National Recovery Month exists to increase the awareness and understanding of substance use disorders and celebrate the people who recover. Kennesaw State University provides resources to help students find the path to hope, health, and wellness.
