Instructor: Sarah Beauvais Required Materials: Provided After 3 years on a puppet team taught by a competitive award winning coach, I am delighted to bring you this wonderful class. I know from experience that nothing teaches teamwork better than puppetry. A fun class for all ages 4 and up, students in Puppetry Arts will focus on learning the many skills of the puppeteer, including but not limited to, hand puppet manipulation, marionette use, stage building, set up, special effects, design, skit story board writing, and puppet making. Students will perform in short, but spectacular skits no longer than 10mins at a time. You may be wondering why the skits are so short, that is because puppetry can be a great arm exercise! This is the main reason this class is skill based instead of age based. Levels are used to rate your puppeteer’s developing arm strength and puppet manipulation skill, upper levels will learn to manipulate more complex (possibly heavier puppets) and special effects. Your little puppeteer will become a master of puppetry arts and preform in a spectacular puppet show at the GA-EPH talent show. Although this is a yearlong class, students can join at any interval between quarters. Students may participate in one trial class per quarter, no matter when you plan on enrolling. Also, parents are always welcome to observe any of my classes, in this case you are welcome to stay and watch or even record and take pictures. A complete schedule will be emailed on the first day of class and per request.
