The 5th annual Run for LITTLE Hearts is Kansas City's exclusive CHD Awareness Event! This family friendly event is hosted by nonprofit CHD Babies, founded by Lee's Summit mom Kelly Manz, whose daughter Chloe was born with critical heart defects in 2008.
Congenital Heart Defects is the #1 birth defect. There is no cure for CHD. 1 in 3 children who die from a birth defect have a congenital heart defect. Not all CHDs are detected before birth.
All efforts put in to organize this event are on a volunteer basis. All proceeds are donated! The proceeds will benefit the CHD Babies Fund for Research at Children's Mercy Hospital. Also funds will support local families affected by CHD and fund a free medically supervised summer camp for local kids born with heart defects, and youth heart screenings.

Can I register more than 1 person at a time? Like an entire family all at once?
Yes the registration process has been upgraded to allow families to register together on one screen!
How do I look up my registration?
Go to www.myevents.active.com and log in with your user name and password. Click the button if you forgot your password.
Is team packet pickup available again this year?
Yes! During registration, after a team is created, there will be an option for registered team members to add themselves to the packet group pickup option. This feature will become available in November, 2017. I recommend Team Captains to send an email to their team 30 days before the race and have their team members add themselves if they choose to take advantage of group packet pickup. Deadline for that is June 15, 2018.
I would like to fundraise for CHD Babies under the Crowdrise option, however it says the funds go to FJC in New York, NY. What does that mean?
All of the money raised through Crowdrise goes to CHD Babies and is added to the funds donated in 2018!
FJC is a third party philanthropic 501c3 located in New York that handles all of my funds. After a very strict approval process, I was accepted into their program. I feel better having them keep all of the paperwork concerning donations and funds and the legal stuff that goes with it.
Crowdrise sends the funds raised directly to them on my behalf. I never deposit any of the funds donated to CHD Babies into my own bank account.
Do kids need to be registered?
Yes! In order for the kids to have access to the kids entertainment and the food, they must be registered for the Kids Dash. The fee is $10 and that covers the cost of the bib and race shirt. Even if they are not running in the kids dash, their regsitration will get them a shirt and bib to wear which will grant them access to the food and fun!
Do adults need to be registered?
All adults that are registered will receive a tshirt, bib and finishers medal. The bib will also have the food tickets to enjoy the free food provided! Food will not be given to anyone without a bib ticket.
Do I have to wear my bib at the local race?
Yes! All registrants including Kids Dash must wear their bib. This is how we ensure that you have registered and ensure that you enjoy the food and entertainment provided!
What are my parking options at the event?
Plenty of parking is available! Starting and finish line will be at Lot M. Parking attendants will be directiing you where to go.
What can I bring to the event?
Strollers are welcome! Pets are unfortunately not allowed.

This event will be rain or shine, so dress accordingly! The course is all pavement on the road outside of the stadium.
Race Day Schedule:
- Open at 6:30am
- Race day packet pick-up from 6:30am - 8:00am at Information Tent (out of town participants only)
- Opening remarks and singing of the National Anthem will begin at 8:10am
- Kids Dash will begin at 8:30am
- Kids activities from 8:30am - 11:30am
- 5K Run will begin at 9:00am
- 10K Run will begin at 9:05am
- Awareness Walk will begin at 9:15am
- Raffle and fun awards will be announced around 10:30/10:45am
