Music For All Continuing Education Credit - Directors may choose to enroll for 1 continuing education credit for professional development through UMKC.
R EGISTRATION PROCESS:
- Directors must use this portal to register and pay the $50 fee.
- After registration is complete, directors will be sent PDF enrollment forms and registration instructions for the 1 credit hour via UMKC.
TOTAL FEES: $50 + the cost of 1 credit
COURSE REQUIRMENTS
- observe at least 2 ensemble performances and 1 follow-up clinics
- PERFORMANCE REFLECTION/OBSERVATION
- complete a two page write-up (single-spaced, MFA format) of the performance (addressing the following):
- one of these must be your own performance
- repertoire selection for performance – addressing new and familiar rep.
- appropriateness of repertoire for ensemble
- thoughts of the performances (strengths – weaknesses – ideas for work with own ensemble, etc)
- CLINIC REFLECTION/OBSERVATION
- complete a two page write-up (single-spaced, MFA format) of the clinic (addressing the following):
- one of these must be your own performance
- process used by clinician
- teaching strategies observed
- ensemble response and improvement
- key strategies you have or could implement in your own rehearsals.
- MASTERCLASS OBSERVATION
- complete a two page write-up (single-spaced, MFA format) of one of your ensemble’s masterclasses”
- strategies employed by the clinician(s)
- applicability to your work as a band director
- biggest take-aways for the masterclass
- PERFORMANCE REFLECTION/OBSERVATION
