Girls on the Run is a character development program that encourages girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running. The 12-week program is delivered by volunteer coaches and teaches specific social and personal skills. The program culminates in a 5K event which gives the girls a chance to shine, as well as an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. The curriculum combines physical training with lessons that encourage positive emotional, social, and mental development.
