Description

Discover the foundational practices and processes of fusing glass! By learning to cut and assemble glass plates, frits, noodles, and stringers, students will craft a variety of plates and jewelry. As the class goes on, we will discuss how glass reacts to different kiln temperatures as well as how to prepare molds for slumping.

  • Please keep in mind this studio has high heat temperatures.
  • Bring water to drink and sunglasses. Wear a cotton shirt, pants and closed toe shoes. No sandals, shorts or synthetics.
  • Students must have a minimum height of 56 inches to be able to look into the furnace, full vision capabilities, gripping strength with both hands and adequate hand-eye coordination.
