The Hope Mills Police Department Special Olympics 5K Road Race & Walk is an Inaugural event hosted by Fayetteville Elite Running LLC where %60 of the proceeds will be donated to the Hope Mills Police Department for their final Special Olympics contribution with the hope of being one of the Top Dogs Contributors. As you know, the Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports program for people with intellectual disabilities. Let’s give the Hope Mills Police Department all the support needed in their quest. The event will start near the Hope Mills Town Hall and will finish at the Hope Mills Police Station; we have a great 5K course certified by USA Track & Field. Bring the family..
Special Olympics provides year-around sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, and other Special Olympics athletes in the community.
Do not forget: Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports program for people with intellectual disabilities. Persons with intellectual disabilities involved in the Special Olympics of North Carolina participate as athletes, coaches, officials, speakers, staff, and volunteers. They gain respect and acceptance through Special Olympics by having the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and share their unique talents with family, friends, and the community. Fund raised from this event will support the Hope Mills Police Department final contribution to the Special Olympics Committee.
