The 22nd Annual Molokai 2 Oahu Paddleboard World Championships returns on Sunday, July 29, 2018. Online registration for qualified and lottery entrants opens on March 11, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time (PT) and closes March 25, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (PT). You must have registered online during this two-week registration window. No entries will be accepted after March 25, 2018.
There are two types of entries:
Qualified Entry – Athletes who have met the qualifying criteria for the 2018 race. Entry is guaranteed once the athlete has entered and paid for their spot within this window. All spots not accounted for by March 25 will be placed in the application drawing.
Non-Qualified Application Drawing – Athletes who did not meet the qualifying entry criteria for the 2018 race. The event will hold application drawings with the following priority.
- Past non-qualified M2O finishers who have a past M2O finish time within the Finish Time Criteria
- Past non-qualified M2O finishers who have a past M2O finish time slower than the Finish Time Criteria AND application drawing entrants with no past M2O race experience.
Online registration will open on March 11th. The registration link will be posted on the M2O website and also be emailed out on that day. NOTE: Only solo entrants and team captains will be able to register online for the qualified entry or non-qualified application drawing. Teammates will NOT need to register until after start list is posted.
The start list will be posted online at www.molokai2oahu.com by April 10, 2018.
Tips for all entrants:
Be prepared to provide the answers to the following registration questions:
1. Have you participated in M2O?
If yes, How many years have you raced M2O?
If yes, What is your fastest M2O finish time?
If yes, What year was this fastest M2O time?
If yes, Describe your recent open ocean race experience and include two recent race results.
If no, Can you paddle ten miles (16.1K) in two hours?
If no, Describe your recent ocean race experience and include at least two recent race results.
2. What is your estimated 2018 M2O finish time?
3. If registering a team, provide the names and email addresses of your team members and list the results from two races for each teammate.
