INSTRUCTOR: Martinez E-B Garcias This is an anti-sip and paint course. This class is for thinkers as much as it is for painters. In the vein of artist as recent as Kerry James Marshall, Frida Kahlo, and as far back as Jacques-Louis David, we will be developing paintings based on personal or social concepts. This is a painting class and particular painting techniques will be taught. However, the bulk of this class will be concerned with the practice of taking an idea, notion, or thought and expressing it in paint. This type of course is most often held in a fine art institutional setting, but this process of thinking and creating is for all who are willing to dig deep and work toward projecting an aspect of themselves into the shared world.
