The Happy Kids Duathlon Series
The Happy Kids Duathlon race features a 1 mile run - 3 mile road bike - 1 mile run course with five races to choose from. This race offers young athletes a chance to run and bike together in one-fun-race! The 1 mile first run begins the race followed by a 3 mile road bike on roads closed to traffic and the final run is 1 mile on soft crushed granite and sand paths. This is a great early-season race for triathletes.
The April 8th Happy Kids 5-Mile Duathlon will be the fifth of our Five-Race Happy Kids 5-Mile Series (February 10, February 24, March 10, and April 8) for which we will have Series Champions in each 2-year age group (5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14). Finishers at each race will receive a TBF Finisher Ribbon.
To be eligible for the Series Championship athletes must race in at least four of the five events. Athletes racing in all Five Happy Kids Duathlons will receive a Series Finisher Medal.
Start Time: Happy Kids Duathlon: 8:30 am
Distance: Happy Kids Duathlon: Run 1 mile – Bike 3 miles – Run 1 mile
Run – The 1 mile run course will run on granite paths for a short loop before returning to the Transition Area where the bikes are set up.
Bike - The bike course is course located entirely within the park on roads closed to traffic. It will exit the parking lot area at GraniteBeach then complete a 3 mile loop within the park.
Run – The 1 mile run will run on granite paths, single track trails, with an aid station at the start of the run and the half way point.
Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.
Divisions/Awards - For the Happy Kids Duathlon there will be 2-year age groups for boys and girls 5 to 14 years old. These age groups will be: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14. Awards will be presented three-deep in each 2-year age group. Each finisher will receive a TBF Finisher Ribbon.
For the Five-Race Series, athletes racing in at least four of the five events will be eligible for Series Championship Awards. Athletes changing age groups during the Series will finish the Series in their earlier age group.
Included for each competitor is a custom Kids Duathlon race shirt and athlete goody bag with CLIF Bar, Emerald Nuts, and other product samples. Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot soup or chili with fruit, cookies and beverage.

Race fees increase on race day.
TBF Racing has a No Refund policy on all of our events. A Refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week.
