The Glenwood Canyon Shuffle Race for Literacy is generally held on the first Saturday in October and is usually accompanied by nice early fall weather. The Shuffle (as it is called amongst the regulars) is special, indeed, as it meanders along on the bike path in the very scenic Glenwood Canyon .
Because of the fires and mudslides, this year we need to make significant changes to this event. The race start and finish will remain at the No Name exit 119. Instead of a 5K and half-marathon run, we will have a 5-mile run. The race will start at 9:00 a.m.
This hometown race benefits local nonprofit, Literacy Outreach. Literacy Outreach is a volunteer-based adult literacy program. More than 50 volunteers will be on the course race day to make sure your experience is pleasant. Homemade goodies will be waiting for you at the finish line! The race entry fee includes one way-cool, long-sleeve tee-shirt per person. All tee shirts are designed by a local artist.
