What's Included

This class for advanced youth dancers and beginning/intermediate teens & adults to establish and develop their skills as dancers. Young dancers build on their fundamentals to strengthen skills of isolation and rhythm while exploring, not only Broadway and tap classics, but modern music that lends itself to the genre. Each class will begin with a conditioning workout and will focus on appropriate warm up, stretching, flexibility, isolation, technique and rhythm in dance. Classes will culminate in show-stopping numbers! Dance attire required including tap shoes. Note: tap happens from 11:00-12:00, and jazz happens from 12:00-1:00. Students interested in only one may choose to come to only one hour. Selection of this class reserves your student a spot in both hours if they choose. skill focus- dance techniques, body awareness, flexability and isolation, improved motor skills and coordination

About This Organizer

The Georgetown Palace Theatre Education Department is dedicated to training young artists and adults in theatre arts and to providing age appropriate performance opportunities. 

 

Our mission is to foster a lifelong appreciation of live theatre by providing a safe and healthy environment for training and creative self-expression, while building self-confidence and collaboration and leadership skills through the performing arts.

 

During the academic year we offer after school and evening classes in acting, dance, and vocals. Our Education Productions offer performance opportunities to those students who are ready to put their skills to work. Productions rehearse weekends and culimate in public performaces on one of our Palace stages. 

 

When school is out, our curtain goes up! We offer School Day Out Camps and a Spring Break Camps, giving students an abreviated, yet rich emersion into theatre arts. 

 

During the summer, we offer multiple Theatre Camps where every young artist is cast in an amazing show! Performers are split into groups by age: ages 7-9, 10-12, and teenagers. All campers attend daily class in acting, vocals, dance, stagecraft, amung others. Each camp culminates in a public performance for family and friends.
