No Classes Week of March 16th - March 19th Music For All Inclusion Students of all abilities will explore both vocal and rhythm games and songs as we explore the world of music. We will teach basic techniques of sound and pitch as well as singing to the rhythm at different speeds. Some of the core skills we will be working on are loud and soft, fast and slow, hearing the pitch, matching the pitch and singing together. We will also be exploring music composition by either developing our own class song or integrating songs we know into an original mix. Each 55 minute class follows the same basic schedule: 1) Social Circle 2) Stretching/warming up our voices 3) Playing in rhythm together 4) Singing together 5) Doing both at the same time 6) Music development and expression This class is appropriate for pre teens and adults on the Autism spectrum, or any student with an Individualized Education Program or 504 Plan. Along with music education; social skills, emotional identification, and teamwork will be emphasized. Our semester will end with a performance for family and friends in the Palace Playhouse on the final day. For question as to whether or not this class is appropriate for your student, please reach out to Program Coordinator Trina Sherman at email@example.com.
