Description
This program is an introduction to the game of volleyball playing an outdoor version with modified rules. Emphasis will be on safety, distancing, team play, fundamentals, and sportsmanship. 15 minutes will be added in between each game to allow for distanced transition on and off the field. Covid protocols will be in effect.
All practices and games will held outdoors on grass at Morris Park. The first practice will be Sunday, April 11. A coach will contact you AFTER the coaches meeting (4/8) with first practice time information. Weeknight practices are held once a week, for an hour, starting the week of April 12. Weeknight practices date/times will be determined. Games will be Sundays April 18 - May 23, one hour between 11:30am – 8:00pm. Rain dates are June 6 and 13 if needed.
Pre-season meeting for Volunteer Coaches will be held on Thursday, April 8 at 7:30pm via Zoom. Anyone interested in coaching should contact Monique Comstock at monique.comstock@gaithersburgmd.gov
