This is the 8th year for the 36.8 mile Relay/Ultra and widely acclaimed for it's scenic Emerald Coast views, fun and festivities for the New Year's holiday time frame.  The Northwest Florida Track Club (NWFTC) race begins on Okaloosa Island and traverses Destin, Bluewater Bay, Niceville, Shalimar and Fort Walton Beach before finishing at the Elks Lodge on Okaloosa Island. Beaches, bridges (7), bayous and Choctawhatchee Bay will form the backdrop for much of the race. Special discounted resort hotel rooms at the famous beach front The Island, by Hotel RL (formerly the Ramada Inn on Okaloosa Island). Ultra runners should sign up on ultrasignup.com.

Event details and schedule

Packet pickup will be located at The Island, by HOTEL RL (1500 Miracle Strip PKWY SE, FWB) on Friday, Dec 28 from 4:30-7:00 PM. A staggered start begins at 6:30 AM on the 29th for relay teams, while ULTRA runners will start at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30. The start is designed to have all teams finished by 1:00 PM with a great post-race party at the Elks Lodge. Please go to www.roundthebayrelayandultra.com for race instructions, course maps/video and arrival/parking information. Roads will be open for the entire race. Shoulders, sidewalks and bike lanes will be used. It is a NWFTC Grand Prix race, www.nwftc.com.
