ARDENWOOD - You can help protect monarchs! Become a Community Scientist, trained by monarch experts to count and record observations (4+ times in 10 weeks) at one or more overwintering sites throughout the East Bay. Free. Registration required. 16+ years old.
Wear clothing layers & closed-toe shoes. Bring binoculars, water, lunch & rain gear if needed. Meet at the Granary.
Bring calendar and be prepared to schedule 1-4 site visits before the new year, 2+ after the new year ...this includes assisting monitoring as well as visiting public sites to learn invaluable skills like finding monarchs!
Have any previous experience counting butterflies? Practice! Use binoculars to find a tree with leaves then practice counting them!
