Music has a powerful impact on our society. From fulfilling our aesthetic needs, to developing creative individuals, music touches everyone. Many begin their musical journey in a school band, orchestra, or choir program. The experiences they encounter in these programs teach them the unique musical language, develop instrumental and vocal skills, prepare them for lifelong learning, increase their test scores, and foster positive social groups. For some, school music is the only opportunity they have to develop their skills as musicians. Come support the Cypress Lake HS Center for the Arts Band program and music in Lee County in a 5K Run/Walk that aims to bring an awareness of the importance of music for young people.
