The Raptor RidgeTrail Half Marathon is brought to you by Dirt Devil Racing.com ... please be sure to visit the www.DirtDevilRacing.com website for complete race details, course description, photo gallery, and other general information.
Course: The Raptor Ridge half marathon is an out-n-back course that begins with 4.5 miles of flat and fast jeep road that winds east towards the San Diego Safari Park and Raptor Ridge. The single track up Raptor Ridge is completely runnable for stronger runners. Runners who are not as strong should expect to do some hiking up to the top. At the top you are rewarded by views of the entire valley. October is a gorgeous time of year and the view at the top of the ridge is impressive. As you continue down the other side of Raptor Ridge you really make up time. Lean into the hill and run fast down the opposite side as you make your way back into the flats and towards your turnaround point.
Prizes: All Finishers will receive a commemorative BEER GLASS with race logo and date of event for this race, and EACH of the four races in the Grand Slam Progressive Series. By completing ALL 4 Grand Slam Races, runners can earn a set of all 4 glasses and the awesome Grand Slam Series Award.
To be eligible for the Grand Slam points series and the cash/prizes that go with it, you must participate in the Raptor Ridge Half as well as the Coyote 5K, Sidewinder 10K and the Stairway to Heaven 15K.
Additionally all Half Marathon finishers receive a super unique finishers medal and moisture wicking race logo shirt. If you run all 4 Half Marathons in the 2013 Animal Series your final medal will be the interlocking medal required to complete the MEGA SUPER MEDAL.
Great race schwag ... beautiful course, perfectly marked ... fun race staff ... awesome Finisher';s Medal, and an awesome post race beer and pizza party at a local SD brewery ... are just a few reasons to come run the Raptor Ridge Trail Half Marathon!!
Be sure to sign up early ... as this race WILL SELL OUT a month in advance. Last year';s Waiting List was almost as long as the number of runners who participated.
