The annual Rathlee N.S. Run and Walk takes place this year on Saturday 16th June at 2pm. Now in its 4th year, the course has been transformed this year to incorporate a 10km run together with the traditional 5km route. Taking in some of the most scenic areas of West Sligo, the run is always popular with both seasoned runners and beginners.
The race starts and finishes overlooking Kilalla Bay at the picturesque Browne’s of Pullaheeney. The 5km route is reasonably flat with relatively few undulations which is ideal for walkers and runners alike. The new 10km route departs Pullaheeney and moves away from the coast before joining The Wild Atlantic Way and making its way past the National School in Rathlee. The route then snakes its way through the local countryside passing Rathlee Tower before making its way to the coast and finishing back at Pullaheeney.
Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in both the 5km and 10km runs.
All funds raised go directly to improvement works at Rathlee National School.
