Hikes: MD at #4 Rte to Reno Monument, MD at #5 Gathland State Park to Reno Monument, and MD at #7 Weverton to Harpers Ferry.
The HCRP Trail Hike program features many historic sights and panoramic views. Trip leaders interpret points of interest and keep a moderate pace. Thanks to volunteer Trail Hike leaders Mary Boeckman, John Breivogel, Henry Ellis and John Singleton! Under 16 must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian. Participants should be in good shape, have good balance and depth perception to be able to hike two miles over rocky hills without a break and the ability to complete the distance indicated. Fee includes van or school bus transportation from the Park & Ride lot at the intersection of Rte. 100 and Long Gate Pkwy, Ellicott City. Detailed information is emailed to participants in the week prior to the hike date. Closed-toed shoes required for all participants at all times. Face coverings required when in the vans. All participants should check the program status line after 7am the day of the Trail Hike, regardless of current conditions (410-313-4451, press option 1 THEN option 3).
