The Pony Express 50/20 is a great event if you looking for a fully aided 50-miler. Each mile is marked and we try to have aid stations every 5-miles. Aid stations are hosted by Boy Scout Troops camping along the trail and providing their own unique food and aid. Each aid station will have water and some standard and consistent food and medical supplies.
It is typically held on the first full moon of September, but the best moon of 2015 will be in August this year, so that is how we pick the dates. The hike starts at 6:00 pm and runners and hikers continue all through the night under canopy of a full moon and stars (hopefully... weather permitting).
This is our 5th year of this event and it gets better each year.
The event was designed for Boy Scouts to hike 50-miles in 20-hours or less. This helps them complete several Scouting requirements.
Part of your registration fees go to support local Boy Scout groups in Utah and specifically in Eagle Mountain, Utah. Thank you for your donation and participation.
We hope you will enjoy the event and the experience of running and hiking part of the original Pony Express Trail.
