Before and After Dark 75 Alden St Duxbury, MA 02332-3878 Organized by Town of Duxbury Recreation DepartmentAbout this event
Description
We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
This wreath is made on a base of damp salt marsh hay which helps to keep it fresh for weeks. Several varieties of fresh evergreens are inserted to cover the wreath. The oyster shells used to decorate this evergreen wreath were all raised along the Duxbury coastline. Each shell is unique with its own coloration, shape and size. A variegated holly look alike called osmanthus fills in between the shells. Dress casually for this class. Please wear a mask and bring sharp garden snips to wreath class(es), gloves are helpful for working with the salt marsh hay. You'll be proud to hang your beautiful wreath up in time for Duxbury's Holly Days. At class time pay the instructor $25 for the materials.* Class size limit 10. INSTRUCTOR: JEANETTE MACKENZIE is a gardener of everlastings, herbs, flowers and veggies. Jeanette earned Gardening Consultant Accreditation through the National Council of State Garden Clubs.
