This exciting character design class will help you develop the skills to create original and dynamic anime-style characters. Whether you're inspired by Studio Ghibli, Sanrio, Spy X Family, or other anime favorites, this class will teach fundamental techniques that can be applied to any artistic style. Unlike a “how-to-draw-your-favorite-character” class, this course focuses on objective, technical skills such as: Proportions & Basic Anatomy – Learn how to create well-balanced character designs. Facial Expressions & Emotions – Bring your characters to life with dynamic expressions. Poses & Body Positions – Master movement and posture for realistic and stylized figures. Color Theory & Shading – Explore how color impacts mood, depth, and storytelling. Daily Focus Topics Include: Eyes & Expressions – The key to conveying emotion in anime. Noses & Mouths – Small details that make a big difference. Body Positions & Movement – Creating fluid and dynamic characters. Color Wheel & Shading – Understanding contrast, highlights, and shadows. No prior experience is needed—artists of all levels are welcome! We’ll have a ton of fun sketching, sharing our love for anime, and improving our technical skills together.
