The Gran Fondo Badlands was created by Rick Skeith and Donna Sawchyn. Their passion for bringing the best cycling event possible to Alberta is evident in every detail of the event.
With 5 distances to choose from (50km, 75km, 100km, 140km and 160km) there is a distance for every cyclist.
Each Participant will receive:
- the opportunity to ride through the incredible hoodoos of Alberta
- a ferry boat ride with your bike!
- a Gran Fondo Badlands rain jacket
- complimentary breakfast at the Badlands Community Centre on race morning
- well stocked and supportive aid stations
- a delicious catered post-race lunch
- an overall organized and professional event

Gran Fondo Refund Policy
There will be no refunds. You can roll your entry to 2023 for an additional $60 up until June 1st, 2022. Please email triitrichelle@gmail.com if you need to do this.
What if the event gets cancelled due to COVID?
The event will not be cancelled, but rather postponed. We have a high level of confidence that the event will go and if it does get postponed you will be rolled into the new date automatically. Should the new date not work for you, you would be refunded all but $60 (due to the upfront costs of putting on an event).
Transfer of Entry
To transfer your entry to another person for a fee of $30. You can do this by logging into your Active account.

If you wish to change your distance you are able to do so at package pick-up.
You may have a family member or friend pick up your package for you.
Start/Finish Location - the start the event at the Badlands Community centre (80 Veterans Way, Drumheller, AB) which is about 300m east of the world’s largest dinosaur.
Start Times
- 140/160KM participants leave at 7:45 a.m.
- 50/75/100km participants leave at 8:00 a.m.
