Racing to Save Lives
This year I will be competing in both the Chattanooga Ironman 70.3 on May 17, 2015 and the Chattanooga Ironman 140.6 on September 27, 2015, to Honor my Daughter, Jessie Anna Starnes, who died 7 years ago in March 2008, of a Brain Aneurysm. After, her death we donated her Organs and which saved 7 others by her gifts of Life through Organ Donations. About a month and half before her death, she was concerned about my health and weight since I weighed 425 pounds, she had asked for me to lose weight and get healthy to live longer. Even though my weight loss journey has taken me 7 years to be able to honor her request, this is the year for me to complete her wish and become an Ironman in the process. I also wanted to bring attention to Organ Donations by supporting Tennessee Donor Services and their efforts to give life to others. I will also be racing in memory of all “Fallen Law Enforcement Officers” who have given their life in the service to others. I have proudly joined “Emily’s Power for a Cure Ironman Team” not only to bring awareness and raise funds for these children to be able to fight against Neuroblastoma a form of Childhood Cancer. I am asking for you to make a donation no matter how big and/or small to support me and our Emily’s Power for a Cure Team. Thank you in advance, Robert Starnes
