About This Activity

The Town of Capitol Heights, the District of Columbia’s 6th District Police Department, Maryland National Park and Planning, Prince George’s County/District of Columbia’s Fire Departments and several other state and local agencies are working together for the 3rd Unity in the Community event.  This event serves as a catalyst to assist local law enforcement with a way to get to know the needs of their citizens, as well as provide citizens with useful information and services on that day. Getting It In Cyclists is partnering with the Capitol Heights Police Department and Unity in the Community Central Area Coalition, Inc. (UITCCAC) to host a bike ride to kick off the Unity in the Community event.  There will be a 10-mile route and 37-mile route. Proceeds from the bike ride will go towards helping the UITCCAC raise money to continue supporting social development programs in the surrounding communities.

Check in time is 8:00 am.  Both routes will start at 9:00 am.  The rides will have police escorts, marked roads and SAG support.

At the end of the ride, there will be free health screenings, exhibitors, vendors selling food, live entertainment, fun activities for the family and prizes.
