Learn to backpack with the experienced Outdoor Recreation staff! Try out your own gear or borrow ours as we teach basic backpacking planning and field skills on a 16 mile out and back trip split evenly across 2 days. The trip will be led by experienced Outdoor Recreation staff and the group will stay at the Genesee campsite with tent pads, bear boxes, and pit toilets. Distance: 16 miles. Elevation Gain: 4,000 ft. Transportation is provided.CANCELLATIONS: If Outdoor Recreation cancels the trip due to inclement weather, lack of participants, or any other unforeseen circumstances, the participants will receive a full REFUND.
REFUNDS: 15 DAYS IN ADVANCE: If a participant cancels the registration 15 days in advance, a full REFUND will be given. LESS THAN 15 DAYS IN ADVANCE: If a participant cancels registration less than 15 days in advance, NO CREDIT OR REFUND will be given.
APPEAL: If a participant experiences a serious illness or loss that prevents their attendance that requires special consideration, an appeal can be submitted to the Coordinator of Outdoor Recreation for review.
