The Deans Marsh Community Cottage is proud to announce that the third "Run The Marsh” will be held on Sunday the 26
of August at the beautiful Frogwood Arboretum. Come and embrace the fresh winter air and get a bit muddy! Would you like to train beforehand and get motivated? Why not join the Marsh Fit exercise group at the recreation reserve on Monday and Friday mornings at 9.00 am? Its FREEFITNESS FUN. Run the Marsh is designed to bring local and neighbouring communities together in the great outdoors to enjoy the benefits of physical activity. We know that moving our bodies, connecting with nature and each other, strengthens our mental and physical wellbeing. This year the event will not only see a repeat of the 5km and 2km runs, but will also incorporate a 3km walk. Check in, coffee and warm up activities will once again kick off at The Deans Marsh Cottage at 9am. We will be keeping a tighter schedule this year with participants setting off in packs with the 5km runners first, 2km runners second, followed by the walkers. We hope to see the Friends for the Red Cross serving hot soup and bread to participants and spectators following the run. Come and meet our celebrity runner - Sharon Pederson, who holds the Australian Masters 2 km steeplechase record for the 45-49 year age group, and is also the current dual national champion in that event and also the 400m hurdles.
First 100 registrations will receive a free T-shirt.
