Questions

What do I wear? Comfortable clothes

Do I have to sit on the floor? No, we will be practicing meditating in a chair unless you choose to use a meditation cushion (which will be supplied). You may lie down if space and appropriate mats are available (or bring your own if you choose).

Do I have to have any props or special equipment? No, just a curiosity of what is going on in your mind.

Is this taught from a certain religious perspective? No, this is a general overview of meditation. Basically, meditation allows a person to be more patient, kind, and compassionate as well as more present for daily life. We will be focusing on a few different types of mediation to find out what works for each participant. One person may find one practice easier than another. However, when life circumstances change, as they most certainly will, it is good to have knowledge of a few different meditation practices to adjust when needed.

I find meditation difficult, how long will we be meditating? We willstart out with small segments of time, from 1-minute to 3-minutes, and gradually building from there to make each participant feel comfortable.
